Monochromatic blue tones rule the space with warm tones of mid-century inspired walnut furniture as a complement. Squared off cushions of the bed and lounge chair complement one another while gold and other colours provide interest.
This Japanese inspired scheme uses an earthy finger tile and bold vintage wallpaper to create a rich, unexpected vibe. Rounded off shapes reflect the fluidity of water itself while an almost black wood tone in the vanity and divider give the space strength and depth.
A more approachable take to the “Neo” mood board. Contemporary furnishings provide a counterpoint to more traditional elements. Local artwork catches the eye and expands the colour palette. Fibers complement the hardwood while providing visual interest.
Oversized local art is the clear hero of the space, providing energy and movement. The expandable sitting area boasts a cozy contemporary chaise lounge, greenery and references to meditation. The dining room table is bold yet understated, providing a solid home base for family gatherings.
This scheme challenges the convention that a cool purple can only be paired with monochrome, but balanced with warmer, earthy tones. Shapes in artwork and drapery acknowledge one another while repeating colours provides some balance. A bit of glamour in the dressing area provides more dimension to the collection of pieces.
I wanted to give this cool kid pieces that would hold his interest through the years while complementing current interests in the ocean and graffiti art - plushies easily swapped out for more mature possessions later on. Simple furniture puts your focus on everything else while cooler colours are the backdrop to a more energetic palette.
Mystical wallpaper set the tone for this design. One of two directions we explored for this client, "In the Wood" was a less expected scheme for a little girl's room. We suggested locally made Lilly & Lolly kids furnishings combined with dark wicker papasan chair, rattan pendants, and elven-inspired streetlight to make the room feel like an extension of the paper.
Concrete and reclaimed timber act as a backdrop for modern pieces and a bold, nature-inspired colour palette. Glass and steel partitions create spaces for privacy and focus while enhancing the space.
