victorian row house reno
PROJECT VITALS:

A single mum wanted to build a new addition to replace an old lean-to on the back of the house that held the kitchen, laundry and w/c.

Two growing children required their own bedrooms and bath.

We developed two options, one more traditional and another more contemporary both in layout and joinery, but using the same furniture and décor scheme.
Check out the furniture and finishes specified for this house in our Sample Boards.
traditional option
This option put the kitchen at the centre of the house, using a combo powder room and laundry to create a small foyer. Space was sacrificed in the Master, however sufficient for a single parent.
Ceding the first floor to two growing children, it featured a spacious shared bath with tub and dedicated 'kid's space.'
Table shown fully extended, this modular dining and sitting room could be shifted based on the activities of the day.
contemporary option
This option moved the main entrance of the house to the side yard, creating a luxurious master suite, sacrificing some space in the kitchen and living area. Laundry for this option would have been hidden in the upstairs landing. Joinery was designed in a more contemporary style with custom natural walnut cabinets and wall cladding as a feature.
